A Note From Our Founder

Why I started Benwood.

I spent years behind the bar in Dubai's five-star hotels — long nights, exacting standards, and a level of craft that most guests never see from their side of the counter. It changed how I think about hospitality entirely.

"We're not interested in shortcuts. We're building bartenders who can walk into any bar in the world and know exactly what they're doing."

When I came home to Zimbabwe, I kept noticing the same thing: incredible talent, real hustle, genuine warmth — but very few structured paths to turn that into an actual hospitality career. Bartending here is too often something you pick up on the job, if you're lucky enough to get the chance at all.

I started Benwood to close that gap. Not a shortcut, not a weekend certificate — a real, structured education built on the same standards I was trained to uphold abroad. Every module we teach, from glassware to responsible service to flair, comes from what actually matters behind a professional bar.

We're a new academy, and I won't pretend otherwise. What I can promise is that every student who walks through our doors gets my full attention, real mentorship, and training that would hold up in any five-star bar in the world. This is just the beginning.

Why Benwood

What to expect from training with us

We're a new academy, so instead of stock photos, here's exactly what studying with us looks like in practice.

01

Hands-on from day one

Every module is practiced behind a real bar setup, not just watched from a seat. You'll be pouring, mixing, and serving from your first week.

02

Small, mentored cohorts

Classes stay small so you get direct, personal feedback from an instructor with real Dubai five-star hospitality experience — not a lecture hall.

03

International standards

Our curriculum mirrors what's taught and expected in five-star hotels and bars abroad, adapted for a Zimbabwean classroom.

04

Career-ready by graduation

Beyond technique, you'll leave with interview preparation, presentation coaching, and a certificate that reflects real, tested skill.
